A psychoeducational evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that helps to identify why a child or teenager is struggling in school and/or in life. It includes intellectual testing and achievement testing in math, reading, written language, and oral language. The process includes parent and teacher input through online questionnaires, as well as parent and child interviews. Dr. Boudreaux completes every part of the assessment and report herself.

A psychoeducational evaluation should be considered for any of the following reasons:
Your child is having a hard time keeping up in school
Homework is taking much longer than it should, and you are having to reteach things to your child
Schoolwork and school itself is causing your child to be anxious, agitated, and frustrated
School professionals suggested that an evaluation may be warranted
Your child is getting in trouble at school and having difficulty following rules consistently
Your child is struggling to form friendships at school and seems lonely
Your child’s reading skills are lower than they should be for his/her age, and they dread reading assignments
Your child’s writing is barely legible and includes several misspelled words

Absolutely, all public schools and most private schools require a thorough evaluation by a psychologist before providing children with accommodations.
